The Three Tenses of Sanctification

This is a video explaining that Sanctification has three distinct tenses, Positional sanctification,(past) where one is put into union with Christ.
Progressive sanctification,(present) in which one must make daily decisions to walk with Christ and stay in fellowship with the Holy Spirit
Ultimate sanctification (future) where the believer receives his resurrection body.
Positional and progressive sanctification must not be confused. There is nothing automatic about Christian growth, it is volitional and daily.
Positional sanctification is a one time event.
In this video I read from a pamphlet put out by Tim Morton,
More Than Forgiven and the work, Major Bible Themes, by Lewis Sperry Chafer.

@skoobalon -No, there are three tenses to sanctification, one dealing with salvation which is a one time act, two, growth, which is progressive and third, the final sanctification of receiving our resurrection body.

@skoobalon -What makes me holier is spiritual growth which occurs by yielding to the Holy Ghost (Ro.6:16). This holiness which bears fruit will be rewarded at the judgement seat of Christ with crowns. 'Because it is written, be ye holy, for I am holy (1Pe.1:16)

@shaky777001 -When you are saved your human spirit is made alive so you can now have a relationship with God. The unbeliever's human spirit is dead. The 2nd part of sanctification now is feeding the spirit so the relationship with God becomes stronger.
The soul is the self-concious element dealing with volition.
Ultimate sanctification deals with getting a new resurrection body.

@skoobalon -Well you only mentioned one nature, the old one.
The new nature is the 'inner man' that is in you that is made alive when you believe in Christ and is detached from the body by spiritual circumcison (Col.2)
It is the 'new man' under the control of the Holy Spirit that bears fruit and thus grows as well. And that is progressive sanctification.

@marialovestheLord -You are very welcome, I hope it was helpful.

@skoobalon -Clearly you don't understand the two natures of the believer, the inner man and the outer man. The inner man, the spiritual man must grow, the outer man, the flesh must die to self. That is growth, that is progressive sanctification

@skoobalon -Answered that already. Regarding salvation, I am as saved as I was when I was saved. Regarding growth, I am holier due to growth of the inner man (2Pe.3:11) Growth isn't automatic, you have to make decisions to do so (Ro.6:16)

@skoobalon -The fact is the inner man is capable of being Holy and is suppose to be so by yielding to the Holy Spirit. That is AFTER one is saved and has a new nature.

@skoobalon -True believers have two natures, an inner man (spiritual) and an outer man (carnal) as that verse shows.

The fact that we receive a glorified body in the future is a future sanctificaion. (Ro.8)
The word 'sanctification doesn't have to appear to make it so.

@skoobalon -I don't see where you asked me anything. You stated that 'three tenses of sanctification was man-made.
As far as being eternally saved, I am no more saved then the moment I was saved.
As for as growing in grace, which is the other tense of sanctification, yes, I would say so.
The inner man, must mature from being a child to an adult.
1Thess 4:3 speaks of present sanctification, 2Thess 2:13 speaks of past sanctification.

@skoobalon -Actually I haven't gotten to them. But clearly you still don't understand the concept of the two natures.

@skoobalon -I clicked on your name and it comes up 'channel unavailable'. I wanted to see you channel to see what you believe in, but state that you don't even have that. You don't display your Christian views, but are going to troll other channels to argue about them. What a phony!
Sanctification- Salvation is immediate, growth is ongoing and receiving one's resurrection body is future.
That is three different tenses dealing with sanctifcation.

@skoobalon -Well glad to see you have finally admitted the truth, that there is a war between the two natures. So, there isn't one sanctification, since the Old Nature remains. All Christians know this warfare. And yes, a Christian GROWS in grace and knowledge as he continues to yield to the Holy Spirit and bears spiritual fruit.
The holiness that results is from God controlling us.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about-no wonder you hide your channel.

What comments? If I did, I am sure they were just more rambling nonsense.

@skoobalon -Why don't you put up a channel that can be seen. Don't post to me until you do. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
