The very first Rx-7's were the SA, and were for the '79-'80 model years. They were updated to the FB for the US '81-'85 model years. They were always SA22C for the rest of the world from '79-'85.

They weren't some of the first rotaries sold in the US or anywhere else. The Cosmo, Rx-2, 3, & 5 and Rotary Pickup all came before it.

Also, the first generation Rx-7's were literally known FOR their reliability, especially in racing. The "bad reliability" reputation came much later, and specifically from people not knowing how to properly modify the turbo rotaries.

"Low reliability"

Most first gens make it well over 200k without blowing up. That low reliability factor is due to improper ownership of a rotary engine

That Rx-7 is an SA and the SA/FB were known to be the most reliable. Most rust before the engines go

Low reliability is a cap of croc, the 12a is the most reliable rotary built

the first one was a SA and the turbo made the car slower and my rotary still runs after 54 years.

"While many car manufacturers like BMW, Mazda and Jaguar tout a 50:50 weight distribution as a desirable feature, the notion of achieving "perfect" 50:50 weight distribution is more of a marketing concept than a strict engineering reality. A true 50:50 distribution means half the car's weight rests on the front axle and half on the rear."

Your video is full of misinformation.
1. Mazdas with rotary engines have been on sale in the US since the mid '60s.
2. The first RX-7s were sold under the chsssis code SA22C.
3. The "FB" chassis code was only implemented after the US DOT mandated 17 digit VINs for the 1981 model year and after.
4. Naturally aspirated 12A and 13B engines are extremely reliable... bulletproof even. There are countless individuals that have seen over 250k miles on bone stock n/a rotaries. Hell, im one of them. My '88 GTU made it to 319k miles before getting totalled by a drunk driver, and my '85 GSL-SE had 278k miles on it when I sold it. I had a couple of 12A cars too, but they had like 150k and 165k on them.
5. Your 0-to-60 MPH claim isn't even close. Did you just pull that number out of your a$$? No stock SA or FB is going to rip to 60 MPH in the 6-second range. I've owned several, and as much as I love them, I'm totally realistic about their abilities. You're not.

You're going to catch alot of sh*t for this video. Jussayin.
