This yellow variety, Meconopsis napaulensis, is monocarpic, which means that it flowers and then thereafter dies. Therefore, we harvest the seeds to create new plants. Keep an eye on the seed head to check when the seed is ripe for collecting. This is normally 3-4 weeks after flowering when all of the petals have dropped off. You can then cut off the seed head and check if the seed is ripe.
