Tapit Trice’s win looks better every time I watch it, push button acceleration and not afraid of any situation, I don’t think he is in Forte’s class yet but next best horse in Derby

Tough winner but my favourite horse is Harley that big guy gained so many fans in UK at the Breeders Cup and I'm definitely his no.1 fan in UK. Race was gd but Harley is a Legend

Japan has a very, very good horse in derby this year, the lower grade Japan horse ran 2nd today in Santa Anita favorites 3 longshots boxed for super tri and high 5 in derby for the best horse doesn't win the derby just the lucky one that can get the distance and a good trip

I wasn't thrilled with his win in Tampa vs much weaker, but this performance was legit...this race is a bear to handicap.

Luis Saez did a great job of recognizing the slow pace & moved the closer Tapit Trice up to 3rd before hitting the 1/2.

The jockey on verifying should have kept hand riding. The minute he hit him left handed in deep stretch the horse quit.

Tapit Trice had the worst trip, needing to circle outside the field, so that was a better performance than it appeared. However, Derby winners are typically stalkers or horses already on the lead; due to the big fields, downtown closers do not win all that often.

Verifying is my Derby horse, a son of Justify. A name like Tapit Trice isn't going to win the Derby. Verifying sounds like one. But most importantly, he has the speed like his daddy.
