Vocation: How do we live as Christians?
How are we called to live?
What are we called to do?

Jesus's vocation was to be born into this world, to live a sinless life and to die on the Cross for our sins.
This was His vocation - given by the Father.

Topic 45: Vocation
Principle: Jesus Christ’s Mission Was Revealed at His Baptism

Mark 1:9 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
11 Then a voice came from heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

The Main Point
By calling all Jews to repent and be baptized, John declared powerfully and offensively that physical descent does not make one part of God's family and that circumcision, which signifies a physical relationship, will now be replaced by baptism, which signifies a spiritual relationship.

Believers now have a spiritual relationship with the Risen Christ

Questions to ponder:
In light of why Jesus came, and His obedience that wrought our salvation:

1. Have we truly repented and accepted salvation in Christ? That is why He came!
2. Is the Holy Spirit continuing a work in our lives? That is why He sent His Spirit!

Therefore
Let us truly think about our vocation, seeking the Spirit’s guidance, directed by the Word and the affirmation of fellow believers. (What we do)
To live as God has called us (How we live)
