In this video we'll look at how to Setup the Ultimate Raspberry Pi 4 Home Server with DockSTARTer.

The main goal of DockSTARTer is to make it quick and easy to get up and running with Docker.

You may choose to rely on DockSTARTer for various changes to your Docker system, or use DockSTARTer as a stepping stone and learn to do more advanced configurations.

Just discovered your channel. I had been working my way thru installing some of these apps via docker myself. But I think I will restart using this great tutorial. Please add my vote for "Traffic on Raspberry Pi"

Hi. I wanted to start off by saying I love your videos. Your channel is a great source of information. I do feel that I need to point out that you really should change the pi login password to keep from getting hacked. The starter password is the first thing they will look for. I would like to see more videos on this topic. I am definitely going to try this project. And it would be cool to see how you configure it. How would you configure the firewall on the rasp. Pie?

thank you this is very helpful for me right now as I am considering how to go about my project here which incorporates an Rpi server similar to this and really wanted to setup using docker

This looks really cool and perfectly timed as I am in the process of getting a Pi up and running with Docker and the apps I need for home automation. One glaring omission on the DockSTARTer website is Node Red. Looking at the project on Github, I can see they tinkered with adding NR but I can't really tell whether it was rolled in but the list of apps not updated. I suppose I could do it manually too.

i tried pihole like in the video with a RPI 4 8gig but it slows down my network even disconnecting it. i got a RPI 2 with pihole and unbound without docker, works like a charm. So did i do something wrong?

I use sonarr, radarr, they get large files. Instead of connecting a USB HDD, can we see you connect this to Synology? Then maybe we can get old Synologys from ebay.

Is it possible to make a cloud streaming service privately like spotify, but with my own private music that I can access when not even home being connected to same wifi/internet?

Thanks for the content. I’ve actually never owned or used a raspberry pi, but am looking go get one for content filtering / ad blocking / VPN, but am also considering putting one together with one of those old school NES-like case and make it a retro game console.

I like to add something.
I choose a number of containers to install using installation. One was PiHole. That seems to give problem when running 'docker compose'.
Here is the errors. (I ended up deselecting pihole and I was successful with docker compose installation of all other app I chosen):
ERROR: The Compose file './docker-compose.yml' is invalid because:
services.pihole.ports contains an invalid type, it should be a number, or an object
services.pihole.ports contains an invalid type, it should be a number, or an object
services.pihole.ports contains an invalid type, it should be a number, or an object
2020-05-28 17:37:05 [FATAL ] Docker Compose failed.
2020-05-28 17:37:05 [ERROR ] DockSTARTer did not finish running successfully.
I though that might help others with same issue.

You need to add the disk to auto mount upon boot (FSTAB) . Now you have only mounted it manually.

I have followed the instructions on the blog, but I keep on receiving an error "Failed to install the latest docker compose" FATAL "failed to install the minimum required docker-compose". I have tried starting again from scratch, flashing the micro-sd again etc, but this has not made a difference
