I Mark, I like your videos on 987, especially from track days. I also have a Cayman (987.2 ) and I installed Cayman R suspension (i.e. replaced all suspension items, that are different compared to base and Cayman S) - springs (they are around 15% stiffer compared to standard ones), rear anti-roll bar and all shocks. Bought the parts from local Porsche dealer and with my long term customer discount paid 1943 EUR. Of course, I changed also some bushings and front shocks top mounts while in there. To achieve more negative chamber in the front, I also installed Powerflex eccentric LCA bushings. Love how the car handles now both on the race tack and on fast back roads.

My gosh this car looks amazing. Like Norma Jean Baker her senior year of high school kind of amazing.

I’m a diehard “keep it stock” guy, but the “R” suspension would be #1 on my improvement list.

Looking forward to the updates!!

Hi Mark, I also run a 987.1 base Cayman with the 18” PS2’s. I find that running the PASM in normal (not sport) on track gives more stability and inspires more confidence. Tyres tend to overheat quicker in sport. Have you tried this? Semi slicks might give a different result, because they can cope with the increased lateral load in sport mode. I may try the DSC module for pasm.

I’m in research mode for a Porsche 997.2. From what I’ve initially discovered PASM is too harsh for ‘normal’ roads. They had an alternate option available (M030) which sounds like it’s much better. As PASM was new, everyone ticked that option so it’s very rare.

Thanks for documenting your journey with the Cayman Mark! I'm picking up a 2008 2.7 this week, and this channel has been a great resource.
Have you done anything related to oil circulation for track use? I see so many people on forums adding deep sump kits, running racing oil, and upgrading the AOS to the motorsport version.

Caymans were offered as I'm sure your aware of 17", 18" & 19" wheels with the tire aspect ratio of each making them all the same diameter overall. The wheel speed sensors need to operate within a measured differential or you will have a problem due to computer monitoring them. You might be able to get the results you want by running a lower aspect ratio with the 18" wheel setup.

How does the VW UP almost dwarf the Porsche 🤣

Great car and nice update. That Gandalph Clio was so much slower than you. Funny you had this issue at Donny as I did too. If I see a faster car coming up I let them pass, it’s just good etiquette but not everyone is the same unfortunately.

Get the DSC V1 module, 'it's awesome' as the Americans say...

Mark if you want 15% off ebc brakes I have a code. You should try rp1 pads too. Rpx are better still but a bit harsh on discs
