"I doubt my son or daughter is that stupid" and "You sicken me" are two of the greatest lines in Simpsons history. He deserved this episode.

Was really hoping this would start with:

“This is Just Stamp the Ticket Man. He looks like a man who needs help satisfying his wife”

I'd like to think his actual name is Justin Stamp, it seems fitting.

I burst out laughing too many times over this one XD Your dry matter-of-fact delivery on how amazing and pivotal this seemingly innocuous character is priceless.

"We don't remember writing this character into the script, nor do our animators remember drawing a single frame of this gentleman"
Said Matt Groening, who is still very scared of "Just Stamp the Ticket" Man

So we have a story here: he started out generally surly towards people and laconic in his mannerisms, someone who doesn't really care about people in general. Then Homer called him a jerk and he became more violent in his disposition, since he thought he only "said it like it is" and he went from surly to outright hostile. The next time we see him he is a recruiter for the Navy. I suspect one of two things happened: either he lashed out at someone he shouldn't and was forced to join up to serve the nation, or he figured he liked using violence and thought the Navy was a good outlet for his proclivities. While serving in the Navy he was deployed so we didn't see much of him hence he had less appearances. Finally in Lisa goes Gaga we can see the effect of serving in the armed forces and his hair has prematurely grayed.

I was just scanning through my Simpsons DVDs and found another "Just Stamp The Ticket Man" scene, that also very suspiciously got cut from the final episode. In "Homer the Smithers" (Season 7 Ep. 20), Smithers takes a job at the Leftorium.
When Flanders and Smithers keep on talking to Just Stamp the Ticket Man while he waits for his item, he responds with "Stop it. Stop it! Cancel my purchase. I'll just learn to be right-handed" and walks out of the store... without even stamping his ticket. How of him.

It wasn't just that he was sarcastic. He was just so wonderfully dry. He was such a crisp punchline every time.

It goes to show how much of a true diehard Simpsons fan you are to be able to make an episode like this AND make it a great one.

As for who I’d like to see next, maybe Edna Krabappel? She’s the weary put-upon teacher we’ve all had, but she was one of the first teacher characters who made me realize that teachers are people with a life beyond school, and what happens outside the classroom can affect how they do their job and treat their students.

I met the "Just Stamp the Ticket" Man at a KMart mens room in Beaumont, Texas. He offered to pay me $500 to give him a Cleveland Steamer. Aside from that, he seemed like a cool dude.

My favorites would easily be the punch in the face scenes. In just a few fifths of a second, Just Stamp The Ticket Man makes a strong statement against the artificial aspects of our society. In the "Sunshine on my shoulders" scene, Just Stamp The Ticket Man is undoubtedly uncomfortable due to the heatwave at the time, should he have his own feelings of discomfort be invalidated by some street busker? Just Stamp the Ticket Man remains content with who he is and how he feels, which leads into the "Simpson & Son Tonic" scene. Homer makes a brash attempt to squeeze money out of Just Stamp the Ticket Man using emotional manipulation, by claiming that he has difficulties satisfying his wife. As we saw in his interaction with the busker, Just Stamp the Ticket Man makes it clear that he will not tolerate others trying to warp his mind, especially if their intent is to only profit off of his emotions. We must all learn from Just Stamp the Ticket Man and make a stance and say "you will not control my mind, or my money. Just stamp the ticket".

Or maybe I just like seeing people get punched in the face, either or.
