GT spent all off season grinding to get the upset and had one focus. FSU thought they could show up get an easy W and move on. Mike Norvell didn't forget how to coach overnight, Noles will be fine.

Almost ALL of the players FSU got from the portal this offseason came from the SEC. I truly believe those players thought they would just walk in and Dominate the ACC. They believed their own preseason hype. What looks great on paper doesn’t automatically translate into success. The GT loss will either unite them, or divide them. It’s as simple as that.

Culture is not the question at all. Willie Taggert era, 10000% yes. Mike has these guys in the right mindset. We had a bad game. Get over it. Move on. Coaches gotta coach better. Players gonna play to expectations.

IMO, saying FSU has a possible culture issue is way off base. It isn’t that black & white. You can have athletes that haven’t put it together on the field without it indicating that there is a culture issue. Not even our rivals can argue that we don’t have a solid culture, the rise in recruiting over the last 3 years is hard evidence.

I’m not trying to jump on the FSU hate train but this is a great example of how bringing in a bunch of transfers doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have a good team. Having talented players is very important but having great chemistry between those players is equally important.

Their final record will come down to how much they can improve the performance of both the offensive and defensive lines. If they can make a good bit of improvement, they could get to 9-3 or 10-2. If the performance from last Saturday is representative of the whole year, they could easily fall to 7-5 (judging from the teams remaining on their schedule).

I would imagine that going undefeated last year, and then not being invited to the title game, did a mental number on many FSU players. That was a real slap in the face that will take some time to heal!

Questioning if FSU had “Culture of competition” is odd considering Norvell has brought this team out of the gutter but also as a fsu fan I will be the first to say some players didn’t play well but really we got out coached vs GT we played “not to lose” instead of to win, offense play calls too conservative and Fuller was wildly unprepared for their scheme which was the same last year.

Just like to point out for all the folks who blindly hate on the expanded playoff for "devaluing the regular season": all it took was one loss for Florida State to drop from being the favorite in the ACC to the 3rd-best odds to win the ACC. That's a pretty substantial swing on one game, so I'd say winning all your regular season games is still pretty important.

After Georgia beats Clemson, FSU will have the 2nd best chance to win the ACC.
