Great topic for people to think about! I run 5 dehumidifiers myself and have to empty them about 1.5 times a day even without tops. I like how the humidity monitor captures the range of humidity per day.

Thank you so much for this video. Great topic. We should have considered this long ago, even before we had 8+ tanks running in a one bedroom apt. We’re in Houston, TX. Humidity is 100% outside this morning. Getting a monitor ASAP. My sinuses have been horrible this year. We have lids on all our tanks, but I’m sure our levels are high in here. Thank you for all the tips.

Great information Jason. Very important info that isn’t covered very often. I love the garden house attachment on the dehumidifier.

I just bought this guage, thanks for the tip. Mine is reading 68% upstairs. Looking at dehumidifiers. I'm asthmatic. Was wondering why I was having such issues lately. Not sure what changed. My lityle dial meter always showed normal levels.

Hello Jason I'm currently trying to find more ways to make my basement fish room more efficient. I've seen in some of your other videos you say you heat your fish room and I'd like to do the same. I would like to heat mine with a unit heater. I know it will have to be upwards of 80°. My question is will heating my basement cause the upper level of my house to become too warm? Will insulating the basement help? What is your experience with this matter?

Alright Jason! Thanks for sharing sir!

Seeing as you have a dedicated fish room, did you enclose and somewhat seal the room as well? Maybe you installed insulation too, if you are heating the whole room?

Thankfully I don't have that issue but the video was very good. Thanks Jason.

#1 cover your tanks. The drier the air the more evaporation years ago when I had my fish I struggled keeping house dry I had over 400 tanks in my basement. Having a refrigeration background I decided to make a 1 ton dehumidifier I was able to remove 3.5-5 gals of water per hour but evaporation increases. My final solution was to vent 100 cfm’s continuously it was a waste of heat in the winter but it accomplished two things dehumidification and fresh air exchanges today there’s relatively cheap heat exchangers on the market if you have the space I believe it’s the only way to go. Another option other than a humidifier is a hybrid water heater we all use hot water and these things remove your humidity as an added benefit. A humidifier running can be expensive in electric.

Does the dehumidifier take a lot of water from the tanks?

Will a regular split type aircon controls the humidity?
