When I was little, this was like my favorite movie, and when I finally watched it all these years later, thinking it would have aged and not been as good. I was pleasantly surprised this movie is awesome. The first one is still a great movie.

One of the saddest and humorous parts of the movie.

To anyone who says Liam Neeson can't be a hammy actor, just show them this scene

In a weird sense, Peyton recreating his lab in an abandoned factory reminds me of Spider-Man 2 when Doc Ock recreates his fusion reactor in an abandoned warehouse.
Nice connection there with Sam Raimi.

This is the my most favorite movie ever. When I watch Liam Neeson, I always remember this scene.

Dammit, why is Liam Neeson so good at playing unhinged?

the only thing i was disappointed about is that Liam was not Darkman in the other two films, that role was given to "Arnold Vosloo" who later went on to costar on the mummy movies with Brendan Fraser...

Sam Raimi will hopefully make a new Darkman film one of these years.

Yep, this is definitely a Raimi movie. No one else has that particular zanny style, and I love it

Of all the things that he is, the word "freak" does not come to mind for Dr. Peyton Westlake. If anything, I see tragedy and desperation. He's pushed to the limits that any man would find hard to cope with. He is still trying to come to grips with the changes to his body and his mind post surgery while trying to repair his life. I don't condone the fact that he has taken a life, but I can understand his reasons and empathize with his pain. All those thugs had to do was just leave with the document, but they chose to take sadistic pleasure in torturing and mutilating him almost beyond recognition.

1:33 - (singing) "See the Dancing Freak. Pay $5 bucks to see the Dancing Freak. Only $5 bucks."

I always thought this scene was goofy and silly. I don’t think that’s exactly what they had in mind, but that’s how it came off. I just realized though. If you took away the music. Just him alone screaming and smashing things while emotionally falling apart. That would hit.

Felt bad for him he wanted his life back but that was nt possible.

I haven't seen Darkman since before the Spiderman movies.
Just from this clip, you can tell those films share a lot of the same DNA.
(Is that an Elfman score I hear?)
