THE CHAIN KNOT has been around for a long time and is a mainstay for both casting and jigging. Although there are a lot of variants, it does pretty much the same thing - it is a strong knot that is simple to tie and gives you a spring and shock absorption effect, which helps you catch more fish.
Be it a knot for Fast jigging, Slow jigging (slow pitch jigging for some people), Casting and popping - it is a knot that you should be using for that extra advantage over hard fighting fish. The Chain Knot can be used on Fluorocarbon leaders, braid leaders (yes, some people use braid as casting leaders) and of course, Nylon Monofilament and everything else in between.
A few videos ago, I showed how I tie a very simple Chain knot Variation. This is a closer look at how I do it - it is a very easy to follow step by step video - the very last part is critical, so repeat that part or slow it own when you view it. It is the best closing knot I use for my chain knots as well as closing FG, PR as well as slim beauties and bimini twists.
