It was the worst week that I can never forget.

You owned a mirror in your room, but everytime you looked into the mirror you wouldn’t see yourself, you would see this boy. You never said much but whenever he moved you moved, you couldn’t control your bones. You would sit there for hours on end just staring at this boy.

One day he was sitting at the mirror and saw you crying over your arguing parents and just talking to the mirror without realizing he was there. He reached out and ofc you were forced to and he held your hand. You began to talk to each other everyday, you became each other’s safe space.

One day when you said “I don’t wanna be alive” he disappeared and you could finally see your reflection and saw the mess you had become. You couldn’t take that sight and decided to leave it all tomorrow.

When you climbed to the roof of your school to end it all, the boy appeared and hugged you tightly.

You enter your bedroom and open the lowest drawer, taking out a black square box. Removing the cover, you see all of the photos of the times you and your significant other has spent together. Going on vacation, hanging out at the carnival, shopping for groceries together, sharing hotel rooms, sitting on the rooftop during fireworks...

As you slowly go through each photo, you try your best to ingrain them into your memory, tears falling down your cheeks like water droplets. Surviving without them would be worse than not living at all.

Eyeing your night table, you spy your bottle of pills. With a gulp, you took the bottle of pills and swallowed them without any hesitation, until the bottle was almost empty. Leaning back, you feel the effects kicking in immediately. As your vision starts to blur, you lay down on the floor and close your eyes, finally numbing the pain.

After a while, you are motionless and still.

it was the end of the world. there was loud crashing sounds, screaming, and wind outside your front door. you would tighten grip onto your girlfriend’s body, not wanting to let go her and lose her.

she would cry loudly, but it felt mute as you listen to your own thoughts. you didn’t want this to end like this. it’s too early. too unfair. in the end, life isn’t unfair.

whispering in her ear, “shhh.. it’ll be okay, i’m right here.”
her cries died down as you whisper sweet nothings in her ears but her tears were never ending.

using her hand, you would reach over and intertwine you hands with your partner. kissing her cheek you’d wait until you can’t feel anymore.

suddenly something came through the roof and everything came down onto the both of you. sharp pain went through you body. wincing you would check on your partner. she wasn’t crying anymore. she was just staring up at you with her mouth slightly open.

blinking, you gave her a weak smile. your home now on fire and heat was surrounding you both. you glanced at your intertwined hands before putting your foreheads together to wait until the pain ends.
