The Pantocrator versus false Messiahs:
• The issue with problem definition is that you cannot solve a problem until you can define it, so let me attempt to deal with the most fundamental of all human issues, our own mortality
• We are the only creature which knows it is going to die
• In order to cope with this existential reality, we must find meaning in pursuing lasting goals which will outlive our mortal existence
• If we do not all evidence points to nihilism and self-destructive tendencies being the psychological outcome
• Therefore, the essential human problem is how to avoid this outcome by giving life meaning in the face of our own demise and suffering
• This is why here in the West we chose a figure in the person of Christ who came to save us from the inevitable fatalism of our finite life
• Christ did not come to save mankind collectively, no, rather He came to save us, each one of us, as an individual, from our own ultimate death
• In the West we have chosen to make Him our highest ideal, or the perfect Man as we are encouraged to take up our Cross to emulate His courage in the face of suffering
• Yet we live in a time in history when this value structure is under attack. Please read the attached article how Christian leaders in Finland have been charged for preaching the Gospel. If this is permitted to continue, we will enter an age of persecution of believers that the West has not witnessed for hundreds of years
• Due to mankind’s default position of becoming fatalistic in the face of his own death, those who have rejected the Grand Narrative which has for centuries defined our ethics, ethos and epistemology have been assigned the task of governing. These people offer mankind a form of “collective salvation” since they attempt to manipulate nature itself while redefining the very nature of realities such as exemplified by challenging our binary sexuality which is shared by all mammalian species.
• Leading up to this First Advent Sunday I encourage those of you who hope in Christ to remember Christ is not a socialist. He came to save each and every one of us from ourselves while our current false Messiahs offer the world collective salvation. They are guilty of perverting truth while speaking of mankind as though we are a blight on the world which God Himself gave us to tend as we go forth and multiply
• If we do not stop them the greatest threat to our species will be that we are not even propagating ourselves at a rate which will maintain our current population. After all, how many families do you know that have more than the two children required to keep our population at its current level?
• No, these ghouls hate mankind while they do all they can to murder us off and in many cases even before we are out of the womb.
• Now there is a thought to pray about as we head up to First Advent Sunday and ponder why Christ sacrificed Himself on the Cross to save us from our own self destructive nature
