What is the Blue Economy?

The blue economy, at its core, is about developing ocean technology while protecting ocean life. It means sustainably using the ocean’s resources for jobs and economic growth.

Also called the ocean economy, it includes aquaculture, fishing, renewable energy, tourism, transportation, marine research and more. With the longest coastline in the continental United States, Florida is responsible for roughly 20% of ocean-related commerce — around $95 billion and growing.
