Rod Woodson is arguably the most underrated all-time great defender. Doesn’t get mentioned nearly as much as he should despite how dominant he was (especially during his time with the Steelers).

Now that I’m thinking about it, it’s kinda crazy how DaRon Bland got 5 pick sixes in a season and the record is 12.

If he was more consistent in coverage, I felt like he would’ve been an easy DPOY choice.

Feels like Rod Woodson is one of the most confusing underrated players ever. Even by Pittsburgh fans his name is rarely brought up and you almost never see his jersey. Imo second best cover corner ever but he’s definitely somewhere in the top 5 in an extremely valuable position

If Daron Bland can just average 2-3 pick sixes for the rest of his career he will shatter this record. We shall see how his career pans out though. Heck of a start so far though and he already set a pick six related record.

Growing up a bucs fan in the early 2000s im surprised that nobody had more than 12 career pick-sixes. One of my earliest memories of a football game was the 2003 Superbowl and there were 3 in that game alone. 2 by the same person. That defense was so good they made it seem like a pretty common occurrence.

I wanted the Raiders to get Darren Woodson from the Cowboys when a young Charles was playing with an aging Rod. Rod Woodson at FS, Darren Woodson at SS, and Charles Woodson at CB. Just for stuff like "Woodson tips the ball to Woodson, intercepted by Woodson, Woodson gets a block from Woodson, Woodson laterals to Woodson, Woodson clears the way as Woodson walks in for the touchdown!"
