My ancestor William Patrick Vaughn was said to have been a longhunter. Love learning what i can on this topic. Thank you.

Very interesting. Keep up your good work. I wish kids (of all ages) knew more about our history and heritage. I would like to get the book about the longhunters you referred to. Can you post some information. By the way, I have been to the Shaker Village. It is north of Nashville. You can google it. You will love their history.

Thank you.

We have a Shaker community here in Ky, between Midway and Burgin Ky, a place called Shakertown on Pleasant hill, back in elementary school we went on several field trips there, they kinda reminds me of the Amish, kinda. But yeah, I just heard someone else mentioned it, yeah check it out! Good deal fellars!

FYI about the Shakers. Their leader, Ann Lee proclaimed that they should remain celibate, and abstain from sex. Their only new members were converts from other Christian denominations. That's why there are very few of them left today.
