Libya's ambassador and permanent representative to the UN, Taher al-Sunni, urged countries to leave their “double standards” and adopt a “moral” and “legal” stance by voting in favour of the UN General Assembly's demands for Israel to end its "unlawful presence in the occupied Palestinian territory".
He criticised the Israeli ambassador, describing him as a "clown performing in a show, disconnected from reality,” and questioned whether he saw the UN assembly “as a circus".
