Travis Orbin - First I Am King Session - 'Chain of Memories'

"Chain of Memories" is my favorite of the three tunes that I cut for IAK back in January. I rode on the 13" hats during the choruses for energy and used the cymbals to melodically complement the vocals here and there (0:00-0:01, 0:50-0:51, 1:48-1:49). @jerrydilger we do have a drummer, in january when we went to record with taylor larson, our drummer tito found out that his cymbals he purchased were not up to par for the recording quality, that night, taylor called travis and had him tab out and record the parts for us, because we ddrove 4 hours down there and had no money for cymbals. it was cheaper to go with travis, and it was an awesome experience, tough decision, but were glad we got the orbinator out of

@andydoode For this session in particular there were programmed drums in place, but if I had to quantify I'd say I composed about 80%-90% of the parts.

I think that the song is pretty good as it is, so your drumming is the cake to the cake. Icing doesn't suffice.

Hey Travis, I only mention this because I just finished editing a pile of videos myself, but you should use color correction in final cut or whatever editing software you use. Bump up the mids a little and we'll be able to see you a lot better. Just a tip.
