In today's video Dr. Chantelle Green and Physiotherapist Lydia take you on a round trip around the pelvic floor, discussing a variety of topics relating to pelvic floor dysfunction. First we go into some pelvic floor anatomy, discuss why pelvic floor health is just as important for men as a it is for women, and why it isn’t necessarily normal to suffer incontinence after childbirth, and why you shouldn’t have to wear adult diapers on the trampoline.

After that we get into why the pelvic floor is so important in diaphragmatic breathing and strength training, as well as why pelvic floor dysfunction could be the root cause of your piriformis syndrome, sciatica, SI Joint dysfunction, or low back pain!

Finally, to wrap things up, Lydia and Dr. Chantelle show you the best exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor from home. This includes a deep squat exercise as well as a downward dog breathing exercise variation.
