Histoplasmosis can be nasty and possibly fatal if misdiagnosed or not treated properly. The worse is when it reaches a disseminated stage or when infects an immune compromised person. This disease became my area of research when I was in graduate school after losing part of my lung to it and almost dying due to heavy exposure and wrong diagnosis by my physician at that time. I then decided to specialize in investigating issues with fungal infections and occupational health issues.

MS2 here studying for our first path lab/lecture exam. itd be great if you could zoom in on this tissue and actually show the macs/histiocytes with the intracellular budding yeast.
Also I know this is being pushy but if you could come up w/ patient vignettes for your vids thatd be awesome!!! Either way thanks for your hard work.

My son wyatte, had disseminated histoplasmosis which resulted in heptosplenomegaly. It was a very nasty unrelenting disease . he was treated with amphertercine B for 7 weeks then itroconazole for 6 months.
