Hi! In addition to crafting YouTube videos about creating more interesting photos, I teach photography at Highline College in Seattle, Washington. I got my first camera in 1979, soooo, I’ve been on the journey to more interesting photos for over 40 years (yikes!)

I enjoy helping people (re)discover their creativity and expression through photography.

Thanks for sharing. just got mine today! So far very impressed got some great sharp images on some magpies finding worms in my backyard and the bird detect worked pretty good nailed nearly every shot. Can’t wait to test it more.

Great video. I’ve got an X-T3 and been considering upgrading to the X-H2S.

This was a really nice, thoughtful review. Very helpful in deciding whether or not I should upgrade!

For me the best walk-around video of the X-h2s I have seen, great work as usual Michael.

Of course we are all coming from a different camera, so these comparisons are invaluable - speaking as a (naked - the camera, not me!) x-t3 user myself.

My three concerns with this camera: size, price, dials or lack thereof. And the screen, but looks like that's a Fuji decision we will not escape with any new models.

Compared to the x-t3, the X-h2s looks like a gfx! For speed of use and reacting to changing situations/light, controlling aperture and shutter speed with dials can't be beat - but the x-t3 does give us that option. It's not possible the other way round. I just wish Fuji had made the top screen smaller, and had only sacrificed the exposure compensation dial. That would actually be my dream set up for the x-t5 - or programmable dial a la X-S10.

So, still sitting on the fence as I do have the x100v for a classic dials fix. Really interested to see how much of the new AF improvements can be brought over to the older cameras as indicated by Fuji. The algorithm and options/interface maybe... Exciting times to be a Fujinista.

Great video Michael! I am coming from XT-2 and was looking for an upgrade. I wanted to wait for the XT-5 due to the retro dials and 'may be' no flip out screen. But that doesn't look to be coming this year. Also, not sure if it will have the same AF performance as that of stacked XH2S. My biggest concern is AF as I have toddlers at home. The XH2 with 40mp might not have the best of AF either. You think XH2S will have better low light performance over upcoming XH2? Thanks.

Congratulations on the new acquisition Michael. After shooting film for many years and switching to digital I chose the Fuji X-T2 (X-T4 now) for the form factor (honestly nobody makes a bad camera nowadays), I can look down at it and see all my settings without having to turn in on. The one thing that I would miss on this camera is the ability to “push” in the back wheel to zoom in and check critical focus and/or customize it for something else. I’m sure that the X-H2 will be very similar to this one, so I’ll wait for the X-T5 but only upgrade to it if the focusing speed and accuracy are significantly improved. Be well.

Great to hear your thoughts! It does look like an impressive camera. I’m sticking with the X-T4 but if I was looking at the two today I’d probably go with the X-H2S I actually like the body design being my familiar with the DSLR systems. I actually tired out the GHX100S for a week and really loved it, just way out of my budget.

I’m still loving my X-T4 for the weight, especially for backpacking. And for landscape I don’t need all the autofocus improvements, though the video features would be nice. Enjoy the camera!

Regarding IBIS - Some reports are out of photographers' experiences, that the IBIS also fulfils the same situation as in the GFX 100S - It prevents shutter shock, especially present when using tripods - So for this reason, please try and enable (yes, opposite advice as otherwise!) IBIS even when using a tripod

Gr8 video. Greetings from germany.
It would be interesting how the old primes perform on the camera, especially the 23 1.4 and 56 1.2.
Wish you, always good light !

I really like all the videos I've see from you. THANX!!
I've owned first the X-t20, then traded it for the X-S10 for its IBIS. Found a really good deal and got the X-H1, my first BIG Fuji. Seems the X-H2s is a hybrid of the latter 2 on steroids.
Is there some world where Fuji could improve AF on its older cameras thru firmware, or would they be shooting themselves in the foot?

Well done, thanks. I'm waiting to see what the X-T5 will offer but it its sensor is not stacked, my heart will be torn.

Was looking for an upgrade for the XT2. I do like the XT body style, however, if you are also doing video having the custom functions is very handy as you can quickly switch between photo/movie settings and many of them at that (such as 24p video, 120p etc). Thanks for the review. I just placed my order and looking forward to using it in 3 national parks next week.

How good is the AF and subject-tracking with the XF80mm macro lens?
Did you try this, perchance?

The 'depth from the lcd to the nose' - it's called 'eye relief'... And the X-H1 had a better/greater eye relief as well
