It's a temporary cast-on - it will unravel. You would knit a few rows this way and then do a finished edge of some sort.

My Sk105 manual says to use the cast-on wire and your video kind of shows how to do this. But the wire doesnt stay in place. I cant even figure out how to thread the machine coz the diagram and instructions on the manual is not clear. The videos i have watched on youtube have a modern version of “auto-tension rod.” Do you have a video on how to thread with old models? I wish i could show you my “auto-tension rod.”

Any chance to show us cast on ravel core between waste yarn and beginning of knitting the garment on ribber? Im trying to knit sleeve with ribber but when I pullout the ravel core, the sleeve unravel. I just want to know how and what when wrong? Im a total beginner.

Why would you do a cast on like this instead of casting on the garment yarn directly?
