In the last game, if you play electra and play zap, does the unbound elemental get +1/+1, or +2/+2 since you cast it twice?

At 23:37 can you explain why you didn't use your hero power and zap the totem instead of zapping a 1/1? You floated the mana anyways, and would have been left with one more 1/1.
