Listen, I'm a Christian. But when I heard that iconic Christian music melody, even I said "Oh...Shoot" I believe there are right and wrong places to sow the seeds of faith. In a video speaking on cultural relativism, suddenly switching to the Christian agenda is somewhat ironic. Don't get me wrong, I'm overjoyed that you're using your platform to spread the good news. But in an instant you go from speaking about "Complete cultural neutrality" to "Here's why we as Christians are right." To non-believers, this video just looks foolish. To put it frankly, you've sown your seeds in shallow soil.

Food and clothing are shallow examples of cultural differences, but this is a helpful video for explaining cultural relativism.

I just want to clarify that Islam doesn't imply that killing is good and doing jihad is not about being radical or extremist. I think you need to dig deeper on Islam before spreading misinformation.

Human sacrifice is not okay and it's absolutely okay to make moral judgements.

Cultural relativism seems right to me at the surface, but once you get deeper into the practices of other cultures, I can't say that something is right when it is incredibly wrong in my culture, so I can't defend cultural relativism. For example, in America, human rights are argued to be given at birth or conception, which means that a baby/fetus has the right to live and it would be illegal to take that life away (the timing of that varies from state to state), but in other cultures where infanticide is normalized, human rights would be applied in different ways. Maybe a culture that practices infanticide can believe that human rights are something collected over time, so a baby does not have as many compared to an adult, which then allows that adult to exercise their power and kill that baby. Or maybe that culture says that human rights should be applied in ways that ensure the prosperity of the culture, so getting rid of extra mouths to feed, or the sick is the right thing to do so that the healthy live on and resources don't become scarce. And as a cultural relativist says, we can't judge those cultures for applying their rights in that way and having those morals. At the surface, cultural relativism seems agreeable, a culture (like America's) believes and enforces that children must get an education, that's okay, and when someone from another cultures says their culture believes that education is secondary, that's also okay. Or when a culture values a certain animal and sees it as a religious symbol, that's okay and vice versa when a culture eats that meat on a regular basis, that's still okay. But as you start to evaluate cultures more and more, and learn about practices that are normalized and defended that go against everything your culture says on the deepest level, cultural relativism loses its appeal.
Though I understand the point of cultural relativism, I can't get behind it because in my culture, killing a living, breathing, birthed baby is wrong as it is murder of the most innocent humans. Cultural differences are beautiful, yes, but when it comes down to cultural practices that promote selling girls to be married to older men, killing infants, valuing a man's life over a woman's, forcing gender roles onto boys and girls, etc... That is where I stop agreeing with cultural relativism as those practices are harming innocent people and, from my view (which I know is influenced by the morals of my culture, and me using that to deny another culture's morals goes directly against cultural relativism) making victims out of those innocent people.

Great video! It was really educational and it was also interesting to see religion being tied in at the end to further elaborate on cultural relativism, though I wish there was more up to date information on certain religious beliefs!:)

I didn't know why the video was so heavily biased to misrepresent the topic, then I realised it's a christian channel trying to push a narrative. It lacks the neutrality and impartiality required to engage in academic discourse.

It is not my opinion that the Nazi's weren't good. Edit: as a Christian I proudly don't support Soviet Nazi diversity.
