Car hacking is not only hard, but very expensive. Automotive security is still in its infancy and requires more trained eyes on the problem; unfortunately the biggest barrier of entry is the overall cost. This talk will focus on a researcher's ability to assess the security of pieces of a car without having to purchase the full vehicle. By providing a cost effective blueprint for assessing several ECU's outside of the vehicle we feel more researchers will jump into the automotive security arena. Also, go-karts...yes go-karts.
