Instruction manuals are a gold mine for breaking LEGO rules. If you want to break more, here's some suggestions:
1. Skipping ahead of the current instructions, especially regarding wheels
2. Not using the instruction manual altogether
3. Tear the instruction manual at the fold and lay the pictures out in a line
4. Putting the instructions back in the box after building the set
5. Putting the set back in the box after building it
6. Reading the instructions backwards
