This man, even after taking a salary of just 1 rupee, is the richest IAS officer in India.

In 2015, this IAS officer was widely in the news because he was wearing sunglasses while meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Because of this, the government even sent him a notice for violating the dress code.

So, this officer is Amit Kataria from Hayrana.

He completed his Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

But after studying at IIT, he decided to pursue a career in public service.

In 2003, he appeared for the UPSC exam and secured the 18th rank.

After that, he served as the District Collector in several districts of Chhattisgarh and also spent 7 years on Central Deputation.

At the start of his IAS career, he took a salary of only 1 rupee for a while.

According to him, he wanted to show that he was working for the service of the country, not for money.

However, his net worth is still around 9 crore rupees because his family runs a real estate business in Delhi.

The worst part of india is that a candidate got into iit ...and suddenly changed his mind to UPSC.. This is the reason why we are lagging so behind than most developed countries for example china- a country which is technologically much advanced. The problem is not in brilliancy, we are far more intelligent than chinese, but the problem is in mindset.
Our Government if wants to develop our nation, must take serious measures regarding these so called IITian... that every IITian is not allowed to pursue upsc as carrier
