Have you been experiencing nightmares lately? Dream interpreters say that being chased in a nightmare represents feeling that you are being pressured or inhibited in some way. I've always noticed it's people who are studious or care a lot about their performance in class that get dreams of being unprepared for a test. And it's not just people who were in class with me, but people who are a generation older. It got to the point a friend of mine in my Psych class considered using it for her thesis, about whether this is some sort of PTSD given how stressful a competitive school environment can be.

when I was younger, I had trouble with a math problem.

Fun fact: I get quite a lot of nightmares, and they are endlessly weird, but what is most interesting is that I don't have a lot of LITERAL visual clarity within my dreams. Everything is always unfocused, faces are blurred beyond recognition or I never even see them at all, and colours are so dull that my dreams are almost black and white - some of them being completely so. My dreams feel like if you tried living your day to day life with your head down the whole time, never looking up. I see people's heads but it's like my sub conscience is "oblivious" in that it doesn't pay attention to what's right in front of me.

I've always wanted to know why this is, but I think it's just because of who I am. As a kid I was terrible at video games because I would just never soak in enough information to know how the game works, and I have terrible facial memory. I can recognise any face I've seen before, but can't picture it in my mind at all.

Once I had a horrible nightmare. I was at my school in my French class, and then an announcement came on a loud speaker. The voice said: “there is an intruder in the school. Please walk slowly so we can take you away” or something like that. Then we all started walking away and I got left behind. Then I got chased by a man in all black. I woke up just before he was about to grab me. I told my parents about my dream and my dad said he had that same dream when he was a kid, except he wasn’t in a French class

I had a nightmare when I was 5 (I never forgot it) that I'd like to share here:

It started with me and my parents walking towards a village with a line of wooden houses, one next to each other. Across the street, there was also a corn plantation. Suddenly, a lot of bees emerged from the corns and started chasing us. My parents told me to hide inside one of the houses, and I obeyed them.

I entered the third house following the line, and it was completely empty. I hid behind the door and tried to see what was happening throught it's small gap. I could see my parents from there, and the bees were gone.

Then, some people appeared and they had various weapons, such as bats and knives. They started attacking my parents, and then I turned to my back and realized there was a strange woman right behind me this entire time. She said "Shhh... Don't worry, I can/will help you" (I can't remember if she said "can" or "will") and then she picked up a knife she had in her coat's pocket and plunged it into my forehead.

I turned my head, enough to be able to see my parent's corpses at the middle of the street, surrounded by the people who killed them.

Then I woke up. Yeah... my nightmares were kinda too heavy for a 5 year old child...

as a person who hasn't had problems with my body looks, I got a lot of nightmares in which my teeth fall out, I don't like my looks that much, but I'm not insecure about someone saying stuff about it

I have certainly had dreams of being chased, hair falling out with the same result and being late. But lately, I have been having recurring dreams of being a completely different person in totally parallel worlds. And every time I am so much braver, yet everyone else is suffering. It's helped with abstract writing, that's for sure

I’ve gotten the “teeth falling out” dream several times through my life. Maybe 4-5 times. Starting around 5th ish grade and up until last year. Pretty crazy

I had the same nightmare for years: me driving a car, being chased by someone in another car (whose face I never saw). I used to wake up in panic, horrible. One day I spoke about this dream to a therapist and she told me that she thought I was feeling chased and overwelmed by my academic life. That week I had the same nightmare again and instead of running, I decided to leave the car and confront the person. When I opened the person's car, there wasn't anyone inside, just piles of books from university. That was the last time I had that nightmare.

I've heard a LOT about the types of nightmares where you're not prepared for test, or prepared for the wrong subject from people. Even from people who're out of school now and have a job! Though I never had nightmares like that, it's surprising how schools and exams affect our mind..

Everyone: my dreams are horrible! I always have nightmares!
My dreams: *fly on Patrick star to a rainbow made of puppies that double while you fly down with your superpowers since you have every super power in the world*
And if you don’t get it, I’m just saying my dreams (even my rare nightmares) always make no sence

Whenever I tell my dreams to friends, they think that I was on drugs. No matter if I'm stressed or not. We would share dreams with each other and others seem tame compared to mine.
