Harnischfechten | Iudicium dei

IUDICIUM DEI is latin for divine judgement of an ordained court fight. The most common weapons of knights in the late Middle Ages foot tournaments and court duels were the spear, the long sword and a rondel dagger. These three weapons were used to advance from ranged to close combat. Fencing books such as the "Gladiatoria" give detailed instructions on how to use these three weapons in duels and foot tournaments.

Love it - these are some of the most accurate depictions of how two armoured knights in full plate would've actually fought - similar techniques to the Jujitsu the samurai used in battle - lovely throw!

Only question is are those authentic late-medieval docs? 😂

It seems like the strategy is generally, Step 1. Try to stab in face from afar.
Step 2.time to grapple aka hip throw your big metal ass
Step 3. Lose guantlet
Step 4. Stab in face from close
