The fertilizer can be used in soil and soilless mediums like LECA so I use it for all of my plants.

You can use LECA in containers with or without drainage holes (I have both setups). You do need to flush LECA every two weeks to clear out mineral deposits and it’s easier to do this when pots have drainage holes and the reservoir is maintained in an outer cache pot. My Storefront link includes options for this.

The 50 pothos cuttings comment is too relatable 😭

Somehow, it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one that has issues with my plants. Thanks for that. And for the smile.💜🙏🏽

I had this plant in my 20s over 30 years ago, it grew so big. I kept it in a hanging basket, that drained water. I fed it fortnightly and never watered it from the top. Stunning plants they are xx

I found out recently that tradescantia are a creeping ground vine. I only had essentially one leggy piece left, chopped it and used U pins to lay them on top of soil. Every piece has new growth and are growing stronger than it ever had, it just isn't a plant that likes to hang over the edge

I literally had the same issue. I felt so bad about myself it's comforting to know that I am not alone.

My repeated plant fail has been a tradescantia pallida… Same story, repotted it too soon, it got crispy and leggy and sad, made lots of cuttings, forgot about the cuttings once, had to re-attack the cuttings, and now still waiting on them to properly root again 😂
And I also have like 50 pothos cuttings too. And spider plant and snake plant babies everywhere.

What’s funny to me is how the plants that thrive under your green thumb are the ones I am most intimidated by; meanwhile I have no issue getting my tradescantia collection to thrive 😅

My nanouk grows like a weed. Sometimes I just put the props in a vase and then throw them out like you would with cut flowers. It just never stops growing and it doesn't hang like a nice trailing plant. it's arms stick out in crazy directions. But it's so pretty I love it.

Lol. I’ve got tons of pothos and nanuok cuttings propagating too. Guess this is my reminder to check the water.

No way. This is crazy cause that is the exact same plant I'm having issues with. My tradescantia was always reaching and I couldn't get the dang thing to fill out and I messed with it so much that it did the same thing. So now I'm left with a few ugly little strands propagating in my wall hangers. It's sad. Especially when I know some people have these big beautiful ones and mine is just sad and ugly😂

My nanouk is my favorite! *knock on wood* I haven't had any issues with her repotting or propagating. However, I usually just pop the cutting right into the soil, which seems to work well.
Also, I've noticed that she does not like any water on her beautiful leaves, so if you aren't already, I would try watering the base only.
Good luck! Still looks pretty healthy and beautiful ❤️

I have the same one, but no matter what kind of conditions it's in, or how healthy it appears to be, it always has these brown crumbly spots on its leaves that grow until the whole leaf is eventually gone. I just don't know what to do.

I'm not the only one with 50 pothos cuttings 😂 so glad it's not just me

As someone with several varieties of Tradescantia, including Nanouk, at home it's been my experience that, while water & leca works, Tradescantia is much easier to propagate in soil. Just stick the cuttings in moist dirt and watch them grow!

This happened to my basil. My big basil needs repotting and its too big so i tried to propagate it in to 5 plants. But then again like you i forgot it as well since i have to leave for 5 days. Now i have 10 basil propagations. 3 died tho.

This made me feel better. I bought a golden pothos and hung it up outside while I made room for it inside. The wind blew so hard it knocked it down and shattered the nursery pot it was in. I had to replant it which made her angry and stressed. I ended up having to take her out and now she’s chilling in water but she is so tiny now compared to what she looked like before the fall 🥲

I love that holographic container thing you use to catch soil when repotting! What is it called? Where did you get it? (love your videos, so relatable)
