A PETA Exposé into the cashmere industry in China and Mongolia reveals that goats screamed in pain and fear as workers tore their hair out with sharp metal combs. Later these goats throats were slit in slaughterhouses, sometimes after the animals were hit in the had with a hammer, and were left to die in agony. Madewell knows all this and yet continues to sell items made of cashmere.
