Review of the Archaeology Study Bible in ESV

The ESV Archaeology Study Bible just got published and it’s a resource I think you should add to your library because of it’s uniqueness, scholarly quality and accessibility.

I have an NIV archeology study Bible that I received when I was first saved and baptized. It really helped me get deeper into the Bible and prompted me to study further. Like the one you are reviewing, it wasn't one sided but as I grew I realized that it was definitely weighted to the secular. I will have to check out this one.

Thank you for this! This Bible is a little more expensive, and I already have several different Bible translations, so I wasn't sure I could invest in it. It certainly helps to see how it's structured and how "user friendly" it is.

Mike, thank you for your channel! Please do more of these apologetic book reviews. I'm always looking to justify an increase in my library budget to my wife. I just watched the other video you posted today (the response to the response about your critique) and I'd love to hear your take on Sean McDowell's latest book "The Fate of The Apostles" before I shell out $50. It seems like that book would be on point with your current dialog with your atheist friends. Also I'm sure you have a great library yourself that has plenty of gems I haven't heard of before and would like to know more about. Thank you again for your online ministry!

Thank you for this review...I'm currently shopping study Bibles and found this helpful. You've mentioned that it addresses skeptics or contrary views..which I love from an apologetics standpoint, and to that end I would like you to consider debating someone like Thomas from the Holy Koolaid YouTube channel who has some interesting and legitimate arguments against the inerrancy of Scripture. I saw a huge bible 22 years ago which had (like puzzle pieces) photos of the ancient manuscripts, underneath that was the Greek or Hebrew text, and then under that was English. I did not have the money at the time to purchase the bible, but i am trying to find it now as I would like to give this to my son (21 years old) who is struggling with Christianity as I was at the time I was searching for a Bible such as this.

First I want to say I just love Mike Winger and listen and watch all his videos. They are excellent. When the ESV is recommended I think about Samuel 13:1. The ESV says that Saul was 1 year old when he became King then it says when he was 3 years old he led an army of 3, 000 soldiers. There are many things like that in the ESV. Of course those that don’t believe God preserved his word throughout history will be fine with the ESV.
