This relay was the first time in 11 years that my beloved Nigeria women’s relay team participated in the final of the World Championships. They (Joy Udo-Gabriel, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha) clocked 42.22 seconds as they finished 4th in the final to break the 30-year-old African record. Even though they did not make it to the podium, Nigeria is proud of you! Africa is proud of you!

Yes, Jamaica has the three fastest women in the world today. But when it comes to *relay, * it's not just about the speed. This is a team effort. It's the set-up, the teamwork, timing, presicion etc. A split-seconds mistake of baton exchange could jeopardize the entire team. Always remember that.
