Johnson wins after last minute vote flips

Mike Johnson was elected Speaker of the House after flipping two votes from the nine Republicans who initially refused to support him. Johnson will face a big challenge in Congress with the narrowest House majority in nearly 100 years. CNN's Jake Tapper breaks down the vote.

They still haven’t voted out the budget for 2022, 2023 or 2024. Republicans have had the house for two years and still require continuing resolutions to fund the government. This is the basic reason why their jobs exist under the Constitution and they can’t do it individually or as a group. The budget used to be done biannually. Now it is done annually. They still can’t do it. They spent the better part of two years investigating the Biden administration to no avail. Oversight is given to the Senate under the Constitution. They spent two years trying to do a job they’re not supposed to do and two years not doing the job they’re supposed to.
