The finale of Secret Invasion is loaded with ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and upsets the balance of power in the MCU. IN this video we explain all of Gi'ah's new powers, and how this show leads directly into Captain America: Brave New World and the Thunderbolts.

So far the most part, I’m going to keep my opinions to myself about this episode, so we can focus on the breakdown. There is a lot of good to focus on in this episode, and the finale does have very interesting repercussions for the MCU, sets up new teams, and directly sets up Captain america; Brave New world.
In a couple days we will have a review video out, but in the meantime, let's break this episode down.
The episode begins in the aftermath of priscilla and g;iah fighting off the skrulls in the fury home.
Doug: Oh, that fight where the shape shifting aliens broke in loudly through glass windows?
That’s the one. One of the strongest aspects of this show is the relationship between Nick and Varra. Samuel l Jackson and Charlayne woodard are able to imbue these two with an easy, lived in energy, even though we’re mostly hearing about their relationship, and haven;t seen it develop over other movies and shows.
After all, he spent years and years lying to the skrulls, using them.
Doug: But why couldn;t fury find the skrulls at home? Aren't there like, billions of planets in the galaxy?
Well, In this video, we speculated that the reason for that was twofold. One, they needed to find a planet far away from the kree. And two, there would be a lot of anti0 skrull,anti-shaefigint sentiment out in the universe. Think about it–in episode 2, we elated that skrulls were a war-mongering race [clip].
And it's pretty obvious why you woupdn;t want a shape shifting race in your world–they could replace you and take over our world. The skills probably did this for centuries before their disastrous war with the kree.
One cool thing about this show is the focus on Nick fury–wh ois kind of like the mcu’s Batman who has lost his mojo. [fury clip]
Secret Invasion is turning out to be one of my favorite Marvel shows, because it’s so grounded in Nick Fury–who’s kind of like the MCU’s Batman.
Ad ends
Anyways, Fury calls to tell Varra goodbye, as we start to intercut between our two storylines.
One is Gaia's attack on the compound she used to call home, and the other is the hilarious standoff between Fury, ritson, Sonya, and rhodey.
KNowing that it's giah–and not fury–walking to the base hits a little harder. Gia believes in this place, she trained and recruited soldiers for Gravik's war, sso she knows exactly how to breach the defenses. At first she walks by Beto’s corpse, on the same spot where we saw gravik slit his throat last episode. But then the real heartbreaker for giah is that gravik apparently killed all the skrulls that worked for him.
Dioug: why would he do that?
Well, they staged a coup against him–and this shows that gravik never really cared about the skrull people. They were just tools for him to get what he wanted–ultimate power, and revenge on Fury. Giah also knows where the cameras are in the compound, so she’s careful to keep the old man's fury act, stopping to cough and take iodine pills to protect against the radiation.
Back at the most understaffed hospital on the planet, Sonya tells rhodey that fury is closing in. she does this to panic rhodey so he’ll move the president.
