May I please ask a couple of important questions??
1. We have INTERSTATE authority in Cal…. Can two drivers maximize their hours doing a cal. To cal. Load, like, one driver drives most of the day while the other stays in the sleeper, and later in the day switch roles??
2. Can someone driving under interstate authority go to another state and haul loads within that state?

I need some advice. On my form there are 4 boxes to check. they say non-excepted interstate - Excepted Interstate then non-excepted intrastate and excepted intrastate. Keep in mind I currently have a Hawaii class A CDL just downgraded because I need to get my ODOT to them and 47$ by mail as I am living in Oregon. So, I have to get this ODOT, and this self-certification sent to Hawaii so they can upgrade my license back to CDL then I'll be trading it for an Oregon CDL. I will want to be able to move goods and deliver within the state of Oregon AND also be able to move goods from state to state. I am a bit confused about what boxes to check.

So an MC number is basically having your own authority In other words it's the same thing mc is authority or are they separate also being that I live in Illinois I would need an interstate if I want to Pick up and deliver in my state and if I wanna do other halls for different States I would need an interstate also correct

Thanks for the information. I am a new authority registered as an interstate carrier but i drive 90% in Texas state sometimes i go outside of the state depends on the loads. in that case do i still need TXDOT number? Thanks, have a blessed day.

Good stuff. I didn't realize that there were 29 states that require this. I thought there only 4 or so. Huh. So I guess if your in one of these states and get offered a load that delivers in that same state you better get on the computer and pay some fees. I guess that would be my question whether or not that is actually feasible, or is it one of those deals that takes so many days to activate?

Hi Paul. What if you were to pick up a load in Wisconsin to deliver in Wisconsin, but you make a slight detour into Illinois or Minnesota and then come back into Wisconsin to deliver? Will that solve the problem of having to register or report?
