I remember when I was 6 years old and seeing the box art for this game where Crash was wearing a leather jacket riding a motorcycle. Got me hyped AF. This game was my childhood

3:31 "Crash 2 is arguably the hardest game in the series"

I'm guessing you haven't played Crash 4 yet.

Crash Warped is not just my favorite Crash game in the trilogy but one of my favorite games of all time.
Although CTR is my favorite Crash game. So perfect even to this day.

The whole trilogy + CTR are much better on the original system !!! Remakes were fine but lost the charm in my opinion

This is also one of my first games, and probably my favorite PS1 title, my feelings on animation is that I felt that the villains lost a bit of their "menace" with the remake, I think your comments about the "over-animation" ties into that a bit

This is probably the best argument you've made. This is coming from a big Crash fan myself.

I swear, the sound effect that plays when you do a spin attack in the classic crash games....
That's my childhood's ringtone right there

Hands down the best crash game, this was my first game.

Well, you can play these games now but you will never experience them like we did back in the days...

Warp is the best crash game, I do think your a little hard on the remakes though. Some of the rights music wise could not be carried over.

Warped is definitely the best game of the Crash trilogy. Gaining new powers after beating a boss was a brilliant idea.
Thank you, Naughty Dog.

I must say I overall agree with most points, and in the end Crash 3 for the PS1 is easily to me the much superior version.

What made the original so great, was all these worlds and the fantasy behind it all, it was so a creative wonder back then and everything felt right. I wouldn’t even complain about the D-pad thing, I still prefer to this day to use the D-pad over the analog stick, since I feel it’s easily to control that way.

However, when it comes to the N. Sane trilogy, I was of course excited about it all and what not, but completely disappointed with the remakes. It just didn’t feel like the originals. I could constantly just go back and play the originals whenever I was bored and feel entertained, but after the remake came out... it really ruined a lot for me, the controls mostly. The game didn’t feel as exciting, like mentioned in the video, there’s a huge lack of intensity, and very stiff controls on the vehicle levels didn’t help the situation either. Controls were just terrible in the remake, whereas Crash 4 nailed that part. Sadly, the N. Sane trilogy is just gathering dust now, since I personally haven’t been able to feel the joy of playing the game since it got released. I would say I blame Time Trials mostly for this problem, since including time trials in the remake version of Crash 1 & 2 was a disastrous mistake, the two games weren’t made with time trials in mind, so it just makes it far worse for the completions at within to even bother with the remake.

As someone who has gotten the Platinum trophy for all the newly Crash games released for the PS4 (yes, that includes Crash 4, don’t wanna talk about it...), I just haven’t felt the pleasure to revisit any of the games after completing them. While when it came down to the originals for the PS1 and even some for the PS2, I could always find a way to entertain myself in those classics.

I grew up on this gem. It has to be the best Crash game ever.

Also, Crash 2 the hardest to complete? Not nearly as hard as Crash 1, because of levels with ridiculous designs such as the high road and fumbling in the dark, the fact that you can only jump and spin, and most of all, the no-death requirement for the gems. Thankfully, it was removed for the clear gems in N Sane, but we still have it for the colored gems, which keeps the frustration level of slippery climb.

I’m with you, this game is not only the best of the original saga but my favorite video game of all time. Although I have played so many few, but still. You should make a review about the Crash Team Racing which is another masterpiece. I love Crash Bash as well.

8:03 it was likely a technical limitation. Draw distance on the PS1 would have been a lot smaller than on a PS4. So in the PS1 version you won’t see the whole jet ski level because of that. It would make the level feel bigger. It’s like GTA’s fog versus Definitive Edition’s no fog

I can’t play crash game with the analog sticks even the remakes and 4. The original warped is so much better than the remake of it

The main gripe with the remake of warped is the controls of the vehicle levels. They are so bad they’re almost unplayable

Original Crash warped is one of my fav games of all time and was the first game I ever played and completed

The motorcycle levels were cool on original PS1. But due to wider screen they had to fumble with how those levels feel on PS4. Sometimes remakes can be good but still miss some bits on the road.
