Superantigen : The Immune System's Double-Edged Sword
Показать описание
Superantigens are a unique class of bacterial toxins that can activate a large number of T cells in a non-specific manner, leading to an exaggerated immune response known as a cytokine storm. This can result in severe inflammation and tissue damage, and in some cases, even death. Superantigens have been implicated in a variety of autoimmune diseases and are thought to play a role in viral infections. In this video, we will explore the mechanisms by which superantigens work.
