*IMPORTANT* : *I didn't mean to, but perhaps was, biased in saying that the Balkans **_suffered_** from Ottoman occupation, while South America and others were **_influenced_** by European occupation. It wasn't at all my intention differentiate between the two and have one seen as good and the other as bad, so I'm sorry if you were offended by this* .

Additional mistakes in the video:
At 13:17 - The top 10 CATHOLIC should be CHRISTIAN instead - Greece, Romania and others are ORTHODOX, not CATHOLIC.
At 10:50 - Norway, not Sweden.
Sorry for any other mistakes!

You asked why 33% of Korea identifies as Christian. Korea is actually a huge destination for Christian missionaries and has been for over 100 years.

Hello friend,
There a mistake you made about Hinduism in 7:57 Hinduism is not a Polytheist religion, it's a Henothiest religion which means we pray to multiple Gods and Goddesses but the source of all the gods and goddesses is one ultimate entity called Bramhan or Bramhun who's the ultimate soul of universe and is an genderless divine entity and we worship them indirectly though our gods and goddesses. So Hinduism in a way is Polytheistic a bit but a monotheistic religion as well. That's why it's called a Henothiestic religion. Kindly correct it next time.

Thank you

The reason why Japan has so many as "non-religious" is because if you ask a typical Japanese if they are Shinto, they say yes. If you ask them if they are Buddhist, they say yes. If you ask them which religion they follow, they say none.
And for countries like Czechia or China it comes mainly from communist/socialist ideas. The same is also true of east germany, where the majority declare no religious affiliation to this day.

As an atheist, I personally found this video really interesting! There are a ton of religions in the world, and while I don't believe in any of them, I think they're still interesting to learn about in general.

Edit: I know this probably won't help, but as a blanket statement, I am not looking for a religion and am perfectly happy without one. Everyone can practice whatever belief they want to, I'm just personally not interested in joining any of them

The importance of religion scale is definitely wrong, Ethiopians parents would sell you if you switched religions

Fun Fact - there is no religion concept in Hinduism, this name was given by Persian peoples who used to call people who lived other side of Sindhu river . SANATAN DHARAM ( Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs )💖

Romania is definitely not Catholic. Neither is Greece.
Maybe those are percentages of Christians.

Speaking for myself, I was raised Catholic and identify "culturally" most closely with Catholicism, but I did a lot of study in religions during my early adulthood and found that, at a fundamental level, I agree most with the Mahayana philosphies of Buddhism. I attended services at a Buddhist temple a few times and, while I genuinely appreciated them, I still found myself relating more to the ritual of Catholic mass and identifying with the various patron saints in different situations. Even still, I place most of my faith in what has been dubbed "secular humanism". Spiritually, I identify as a skeptical agnostic who practices Buddhism through the lens of Catholicism. (I often sit through mass wondering how Buddha would interpret the scripture and sermons and come to my own conclusions.) Catholicism is "what I know", but Buddhist philosophy is what I use to measure veracity, morality, and ethic. Intellectually and ultimately, I acknowledge that I'm truly a secularist who understands, appreciates, and willingly engages in the ethical, philosophical and theological trappings of religion. To borrow a trope from the TV series "X-Files", I want to believe... that there are multiple, maybe infinite paths, to enlightenment, the ideal afterlife, AND a more harmonious future for humanity but the end result of the life pursuit should be the same: doing what I can to make tomorrow better for those fortunate enough to encounter it.
