I am using this in India. I hope it gets officially launched here. My mind is blown. Now I auscultate patients way more often than I used to 😅 in the process, my patients feel more cared for and I get to use this device more often

This device was a game changer for me. Like others have written, I have the other EKO units and use them regularly. This one has the features I wish were on the others. I have used it and it is quite helpful early on in identifying aberrancy before I get a 12 lead.

As to cleaning… I am mindful about the possibility of getting material into the charging port. Perhaps EKO can consider a wireless recharging option, like with the DUO. What I do personally is I clean the patient’s chest with alcohol preps beforehand as I am preparing for a 12 lead anyway, and this typically takes care of the concern. If the patient is diaphoretic, I use a trauma pad and iodine-based swabs (if patient not allergic) or alcohol preps as I’m not going to get good conductivity without that for 12 lead anyway. So, that’s been my approach. I always clean my stethoscopes with alcohol preps or 90% alcohol in between patients anyway.

I don’t comment on much but I got mine today. This thing is insane. I have the Eko device on the Littmann, which has served me well for quite a while. Working in an Emergency Center, this thing will be helpful (especially in triage). The sound is so clear, and having the ECG before a 12-lead is available is pretty sweet. Also, it is significantly lighter than the Littmann/Eko. I am keeping my old Eko, but this is a welcomed upgrade!

Is this useful in veterinary medicine? Mainly using for detecting heart rate. Family is getting me a gift for graduating! Also for the Littman CORE, it can detach and you can utilize just the bell and the digital attachment and connect to a Bluetooth device to listen with. Can you do the same with the 500?
