Based on a true story:
-ffxi
-Guild pays guy A to screw with guy B.
-Guy B starts dating guy A
-Guy A reveals he's male playing a girl character
-Guy B figures out guild was behind it
-Guy B tells guy A that he was a girl playing a male character all along.
-Guy A is super happy and thrilled and says he loves guy B and is relieved as he felt awful for getting a boner while cybering with a guy
-Guy B asks for details on who paid him
-Guy A spills the beans and gives guy B the money asking for forgiveness
-Guy B takes the money
-Tell guy A he got a bonner from cybering with a guy and breaks up with him
-Guy A is confused and depressed which leads up to him quitting
-Guy B proceeds to intentionally screw the guild pulls on notorious monsters and leaks info to rival guild
-Guy B pays multiple guys outside the guild to start dating multiple members in the guild
-Every week someone gets a reveal that they had been going out with a guy
-Everyone is uneasy as they might be dating guys
-Actual legit relationships are broken
-Ghosting Pallusa ensues
-No one trusts anyone
-people stops logging in
-guild is now a ghost town
-Guy B plays alone till he eventually quits
-Bad end

Kind of happened to me in a way lol. I'm transmale and so I play a male miqo'te and I'm super into the femboy look. Apparently my character pulled it off so well I've "tricked" multiple players, even though male miqo'te poses are different from female miqo'te lmao.

i rlly dont care who's who behind the characters, i ask the pronouns of my fc friends so i dont accidentally misgender them based on assumptions, and thats about it. im a lala so i dont really have this problem, thankfully, but i think its kind of weird and disrespectful to hit on someone who's literally anon nd u know nothing about. its an mmorpg, not a dating site to meet potential partners. ppl here just wanna go kill dragons or smth!! obvs if youre looking for rp partners and stuff its okay, some ppl also look for that, but some ppl can get reaaal creepy and some really look for a whole-ass relationship and they have no respect for anyones boundaries.

The thing that really sucks about so many men playing female characters is its really hard to find other female players to make friends with because 70% of the female player characters are men IRL. 😢 And people always assume I'm a man.

The rest of my characters are an old hermit that is good at crafting / making shit and my main which is a tall as fuck Elf that matches me in every way. . .expect I can't kill dragons or dance like he can.
