Case dismissed against northern Utah youth soccer coach hours after 2News report airs

WEST POINT, Utah (KUTV) — A criminal charge of interfering with a public servant against a northern Utah youth soccer coach was dismissed Tuesday, just hours after a KUTV 2News report aired about the case.

Brent Matthews, 40, was charged with a misdemeanor back in April after an interaction with an employee of the city of West Point, in Davis County.

That employee, Karly Norwood, had said Matthews repeatedly refused to follow city rules for park usage and acted in a way that made her feel threatened, prompting her to call the Davis County Sheriff’s Office on April 13.
