My god, so well founded, full of facts and evidences. I’ll start believing right now.

I like this WAY more than I do the “feel good” church messages of the day.

Man I enjoyed this. Great guy. I love the worldview definition, "it's what you believe about the most important things in life."

Atheist feedback: good talk, I think the questions you choose as being of utmost importance are also informed by your worldview. For example I think purpose is important but I don't think ultimate purpose (and he equivocated on those, likely by accident), is particularly important. I also worry about his casual dismissal of determinism but I suspect this is just a set up sermon that prepares the ground for future conversations.

Thanks for sharing Braxton.

Question: What if my atheism does “survive” this? Does that mean the Christian God does not exist?

Thanks in advance.

@ 16:00 Ooh, I'm disappointed I've been excluded from the pastor's list. My claim is that if there is a God/gods, His/Her/Their hiddeness makes arguing about its existence futile. I am an apathetist. I know it is probably the smallest percentage group of a belief system out there but he still didn't include me.

9:12 "The goal with you is to help you know it and understand it on a deeper level and the reasons why you believe it". This reminds me of J. Warner Wallace's complaint that he often finds Christians who, when he asks them why they believe, say that they are Christians because that is how they were raised. Is Young Sheldon and "the Culture" right about these people? Is that why there is a need for apologetics - to get the Christians who believe for terrible reasons to stop making the philosophically minded, mature Christians look bad?

I really like apologetic sermons like these. I definitely think these are good for especially young Christians. I remember it was sermons like these that helped me in my faith when I decided to take what I believe seriously

So your question of where did everything come from is assuming everything came from somewhere. Energy, and/or Matter might have always existed, and not came from anywhere.

Provisionism sounds very much like moralistic therapeutic deism.

Well... one vid down and still a happy 'Non-theist'. (^_^)

So, Islam doesn't believe in a theistic god? And the idea that we can call on God (moralistic therapeutic deism) is somehow synonymous with secularism? This guy can't even get his categories straight.

You left out panentheism, where God or the divine spirit permeates and transcends the universe. God is the ultimate consciousness unbounded by space and
