This band should be so much bigger. Some of the music that gets put out on a wider stage compared to something like this, or literally this is so much worse. Even stuff from thirty years ago. And I would qualify a great number of Barnes' songs as pop music. And really good. And really thoughtful. There is no reason a song like this shouldn't have been in the top 40.

Problem is i realize we need to heal and stay away from each other. This partner doesnt want us to be over though. But we keep hurting each other. Thats why i want us to separate. This song is incredably cathartic, i love it.
Over a year ago I finally ended a 10 year long abusive friendship. I let him treat me like shit, manipulate me and convince my own issues, mental health, abuse and trauma where nothing because he had it worse. Fuck i didnt even realize i was trans dispite having daily breakdowns over how soul crushingly grotesque the idea of being a women felt- because his dysphoria was worse, or at least thats how he acted. Any time I'd try to talk to him about how he treated me and EVERYONE around him he'd spin it into me being the bad guy who doesn't understand mental health and just cruel and judgemental to him because he's "broken". (Not cause, once again, he treats literally everyone in his life horrendously)
It took me meeting my boyfriend to realize that just because someone's more traumatized then you, it doesn't mean they're aloud to treat you like their emotional punching bag.
