The real issue with season 15 is the removal of level up champion capsules and mastery chests.
You can't get shit in 2025

I think it's mostly mental. Before seeing your team give first blood or first tower didn't really matter because it wasn't that easy to perceive the advantage the enemy had (granted they weren't 55 ahead at 10 mins). But now with the boots you can see that they are actually ahead and so even if it's technically still the same as before, now people actually perceives the fact that they are really behind and gets mental boomed by that

People be coping so much about snowballing. Brother I plaued since beta. We had no handholding until Season 4.
If you were behind you dont have catchup exp/scaling exp that magically lets you comeback 3 levels down. You didnt have bounties that reversed a gold lead by 1000 gold.

If you were in the hole you had to claw your way back by aceing the enemy team 2 or 3 times.
If you were a jungler the enemy nidalee and support alistair would be making their home in your jungle with 10 green wards.
If you had a lead you deserved to keep it or at least not have it erased because one of your team in solo Q wanted to limit test a couple times donating the gold lead back.
Now 750 boots upgrade which isnt even free is now called "snowballing".

Dom spittin. More people need to be aware of this.

Nothing more quintessential league than showing players that, mathematically, the changes don’t make that much of a difference, and the player base collectively saying “nah I disagree”

This is the correct take. Losing feats of strength is definitely more tilting but not nearly as punishing as people are making it out to be.

I think it's a good things, it reward pro activity and early game champion like jayce instead of being outscaled to oblivion after one single item by a tank because for the early 14 minute was just sitting under his turret waiting for his jungler .

All the feats really do is beat it into your head that the early game is important. It's the most important so you should probably be very concerned with winning it. The korean server isnt ff15 city because theres no truth to it. Now dont go out and ff15 every game something goes wrong, but the early game is the most impactful part of the game.

First three monsters yes, but first turret and first blood does not mean the game is lost. Even trading epic monsters for towers can be reasonable depending on the game state. The problem is more Atakhan being incredibly OP.

i disagree because last season there were literally comps that wanted to avoid fighting anything but the soulpoint drake and only farm up/scale until then. this season there might be these types of comps aswell but it will be a bit harder

This is just gonna cause way more players to mental boom, especially people who actually had enough mental to stick around and try and win games. Agency is gone and even more games feel hopeless. Game was better when a death or 2 didnt mean the whole game was over.

The fact new season has also restricted what can be gained in skins as such as f2p doesn't help matters.

If by 23 min winning team is ahead enough that they can force atakan and you cannot trade it for something, ur game is done. That by definition creates stompier game flow. Although riot shit the bed even more with rewards, capsules, essence gain etc. So all around s15 is dogshit beyond belief.

Its more to me that this is bad game design if you intend to a team thats already ahead by gating tier three boots to them. Regardless of whether it actually makes a difference or not is imo bad game design. The way I see it, it would be more interesting if Noxus's awards dont discriminate towards those that are "losing", and have both teams prove their strength to gain the boots.

feats, sure, but the Atakhan buff snowballing into donkey fight at baron and win is a bit crazy

Just makes me ff even faster then 15 minutes

Since Riot bases all their balance patches on pro play. If the feats of strength are strong we will see strong early game champions and duellers return in the meta which I am looking forward to.

I don't think its that op, its just that it feels so fucking bad to lose some random 1vs1 and lose so much. It literally makes tilting worse

radekhruby

The person talking about mental is wild. Is Riot supposed to balance their game around the thought that their player base is mentally ill and gives up after first blood?

Sometimes you’re not winning at all you just get a lucky tank for first blood then while that mess is occurring in the top or mid lane you not pushes tower out. Doesn’t mean you’re winning the enemy was just in bad positions for one trade
