So, this is the Septembrist story. Technically, Septembrist was from Merton, Wisconsin (I lived in Wisconsin; Tony was my cousin. Kris, John (brothers) and Tony started the band and started writing songs. Kris was like 12 or 13 at the time, John and Tony were maybe 16 or 17 and I was 17 or 18). They didn't have a bass player, so I volunteered even though I had never played bass. We had a bunch of rehearsals and finally after a couple of months went into a recording studio who had no idea what to do with Death Metal, so between us messing with it and the studio, our first demo was released. The cover art was taken from a book I had about old 60's and 70's art. The inside of the tape was supposed to be this picture we took by an old tree but it never came about. We had our first gig at Knights of Columbus with like 2 other bands around. Great show, the place was a pain and we barely got paid for the show. Sold our demo at the show. Cost us maybe $400 to record, never made up that money at all. Wrote more songs and played The Waukesha Expo center (with Haruspex, Cyanosis, and maybe like 2 other bands (possibly Pains Invention)). A little while after that, I left the band because I got bored. Nico (Fotis) stepped in on bass and they got signed to Hardknocks Records and recorded the professional sounding Diabolic Delusions. I remember Tony telling me that they recorded it in the basement of his house and the recording guy stated Nate's vocals sounded like "Bacon frying in a pan". I know they played Milwaukee Metal Fest, then the band went their seperate ways. All I know about the rest of them is Tony went on to play in Excision and Cyanosis I believe, then he and few others started Kook, 8 ways to sunday and Choogy. On a Seperate note, Possessed by Sickness was written by Excision and given to us to play and record.
