Riding in Air Canada's Lockheed 10A Electra - Better than Business Class

Air Canada's first flight was in a 1937 Lockheed 10A from Vancouver to Seattle. 80 years later, this beautifully restored 10A Electra embarks on a cross country tour to celebrate the Sept 6 anniversary. Join me as we find out more about what it's like to fly in one of only 2 in the world.

Interesting to see that all the staff with skills are ACTUALLY Canadian.

Beautiful airplane. So sleek and cutting edge for it's era.

Everyday Reviews...I loved this vid! I loved your enthusiasm, and genuine regard for the pilots and mechanics involved with this old girl. She's lovely!

It would be a thrill to travel in the Electra.

I'm a native Kansan... home of Amelia Earhart. We all know her history with the Electra. She was a solid aircraft.

Great video. Thank you!

Flew over my place a couple of years ago. YUL to YOW. Those radial engines got my attention.

As mentioned, the old film footage is of the larger and heavier model 14 "Super Electra". Still kool to see these old birds.

Pratt and Whitney dependability. That ship is gorgeous!

My pickup is seventy. On her original 216 stove bolt and running gear. It’s all in how you treat older equipment. An idiot could ruin it mere minutes or an understanding expert can make it last.

They had spinners that really looked good out there. Love the black wrinkle finish on dash and instruments.
They had that unique inner wing storage hatch.

You start the engines and the lousy music at the same time, what were you thinking?

Incredible that we have the opportunity to hear those 80 year old mighty radials, but you decide we should rather listen to your cacophony with a rythm!

Pity that NONE of the old footage showed a 10A Electra...
I've flown in TCC when I was young, I remember the smell, particularly in the cockpit, and the glorious SOUND of the engines on takeoff when they weren't quite in sync. This is a real classic and should be preserved in flying condition, not just sitting in a museum like many other classics.

Almost all of the old footage shown in this video is a Lockheed Lodestar, not an Electra

I had the oppturnity to fly in The Electra many times From YVR when they used to raise money by having people buy tickets so kids who were very sick could fly to Disney land and a plane and pilot was donated by Air Canada .

Wonderful film about a wonderful aircraft totally spoilt by the background music. I would love to listen to the machine not the music,
