I think what really ruined Green Lantern for me was that it could have been so stunning and impressive. Why not have practical effects for the aliens and sets, and make sure that the constructs of the rings were the only CG? I mean, CG is the way creators can create constructs of whatever they want.

For that matter, why ruin the parallax arc? Parallax is a literal god-tier villain with a huge impact on the story. Starting with Parallax is like Frodo and Sauron beating Sauron before leaving the shire. Start with anyone, literally anyone else. Have him face Legion and wonder if he's joining the wrong side.

I walked out of Green Lantern like "It was pretty cool" but after a while I realized "Oh no that movie sucked hard". Sad thing is that realization took about 3 years to actually come to fruition.

DCEU history is really spotty. Green Lantern is one of the worst movies of all time. B&R was something. Superman 3 was nearly as bad as GL.Supergirl was a sad and confused movie. Catwoman was truly awful.
