tried to install these because I failed a fire inspection. They screwed on fine but they were causing my door to hit the frame on the latch side.( not even close to closing) They are much fatter than the original hinges. So I had to put the original ones back in. Do I need to chisel or route out the hinge side frame to give these more room?

Can replacing just the center one do the job, instead of upper and lower?

I came instead to find out how to take mine out because it was irritating to have to prop it open. Too bad I didn't know about the tension and the pin before I just unscrewed on and then pried it off. Yep, it went of like I'd shot a gun in the house and I got an earful from the wife. :)

I kept waiting to see the door actually close. Never happened. Not proof of concept.
